Welcome to 300mania :)

How long was it stood for? In the ebay pics I could see algae on the rear windscreen trim.

Ayup, be thou from Yorkshire? Awesome motor. What are your plans? Keeping it original? There's a hint in that question somewhere.

Nope, not from Yorkshire! I'm in Cumbria currently :)

And no, nothing of mine stays original! Fun skid car is the aim, watch this spacehopper...

You get purists everywhere, and I tend to unintentionally get on a lot of their bad sides... The thing is, if everyone liked the same things, the car scene would be an extremely boring place to be. A lot of people like concours, everything super original, etc.. I can certainly see the appeal, and I fully appreciate the amount of work that goes into getting and keeping the cars to that level, but its just not my thing. I just hope everyone can be adults about that fact, (unlike on the Ford and Saab forums I am a part of). Devout purists that try and force their views on me will not like my thread.

Yeah man, I like the colour too!! Its the interior that I've fully fallen for, its one of the main reasons I bought it :D

You dont have to convince me, my 340's far from standard :D

Really like stuff like the quater light windows that came on the earlier cars, and your right the interior is awesome

whats the overall plan for the car?

Excellent :) Didnt mean to sound ranty, just have had a lot of grief on some other forums and it got old a while ago!! lol

Yeah, I like that too.. The more I have been learning about these the more I like mine.

Just going to keep it simple, low, some nice wheels, weld the diff and maybe a hydro if I'm feeling frivolous 340pw

It's an interesting early Mk2 car, but not exactly a minter - so I think it's fair game! However, if you do strip the interior - I bet someone would put it to good use, it's awesome!

Looks like the owners manual is later than the car, in that pic anyway. Service book is right though, which is the more important thing :D

Thanks for that man, its info like that I need!! :)

And the only way I would strip this interior is if I had bought another 340 to daily to put it in.. I love it! haha

From reading some of the build threads today, I feel I should start stockpiling prop shafts... LOL

Read all of jon-ovlov's build thread, (took a good few hours!! lol). Nice to learn so much more about the car that sparked my interest in 300's!! Very awesome build!

Its an awesome forum! You guys actually have proper conversation about problems and come to plausible conclusion... I think this is pretty much a first for a forum I am a part of (apart from thelatebay, they are pretty good).

Today is the day I start my trip south to pick up my beast, so I am a little over excited....

It appears all my pictures are gone.. Thats not cool. Will try to fix.

The 345 has more than a few problems, (have put a post up in the tech section, hope thats the right place!) Nice to drive though once it will actually start lol and the interior is super awesome! Got huge folder full of history with it too, so thats pretty awesome.

Sadly no pics yet, I've taken loads, but because I am away i cant put them on this computer. Pic heavy udpate to come when I get home!
