Vadis on Windows 10

Post by Ride_on » 09 May 2016 12:30 am

Anyone managed to install Vadis on Windows 10? Just got a new PC and it installs but gives an error after entering the model gets stuck thereafter. There was a message during install about MS SQL 2005 or something not being compatible with Windows 10.

VADIS went out with Nelson's eye.

A late copy of VIDA is you best bet. Check the minimum systems requirement of the different releases.

Hi,
as far as I know, the available Vadis is a copy for MS Win 7 pro.
It contains internal an MS SQL database (5.0), that seems not capable of Win 10.

This is also noted by MS itself, that this version of MS SQL is not working on Win 10.

I would suggest, if someone really wants to spent several days and nights of work and money
to install Vadis on a Win 7 pro, as suggested.
Then try to upgrade the database to MS SQL 2014. Then try to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10.

I doubt, that this will work so easy, but could be the only way to get Vadis work on Win 10.

Regards
Ralf

Couldn't you just run an older version of Windows and VADIS within a Virtual Machine if you already have the existing software?
