I Need your help

Post by Chileno » 14 Feb 2017 08:58 pm

Hi, My name is Tarek, and I am from Chile. (Don't expect perfect grammar from me :) )
I am so happy to find this page, I live in a country where only the Volvo 360 were sold only from 1985 to 1990, and it wasn't very famous either, and now I guess there aren't more than 20 in the whole country (working or not) in the 90's this car was already rare.

My uncle has a 1985 Volvo 360 GLS 2.3 (He says he doesn't remember where he got the engine from, not much of a car guy I guess ), he must've been the 8th owner at least. He gave me the car a couple weeks ago and i fell in love with it.
The car in its current condition isn't worth more than 100 pounds and restoring it's going to be at least 10 times the amount, it hasn't moved in over 10 years. My whole family thinks I'm insane but I just love this car so much...
Since it's such a rare car here, finding parts is a needle in a haystack situation.
Importing them is my only chance to make this beauty live again. but since it wasn't sold in the US (and haven't heard much of Sweden), again Needle in a haystack.

I would love to hear your thoughts, I don't want to leave it there and let him die like the rest, what would you do?
Peace and Love everyone :360:

Welcome on behalf of the group.
What parts do you need, there are members on this group who have parts or know where to get them

I just restored mine and put in a 2.3 Turbo. Finding parts or remaking is part of the fun.

No you're not mad you've just got lucky to work on a car with the family history! I'd do a Shawshank crawl to get my hands on my dad's old yellow Mini Cooper. Welcome Chileno!

I have sent 360 parts to someone in Chile but I'm sure you are right about them being rare

As long as the body is not badly rusted I see no reason not to fix it
