Hello All My name is Jason
introduction over i have a little story for you guys.
after owning a opel manta 1.8 gt for a while a few years ago and regretting selling it form say 2 days after selling it iv always been looking for something to fill the void, old rwd void. my manta was striped out 2 bucket seats straight through stainless exhaust fuel cell in the boot...class i would have been about 23....im 27 now. i like drifting and kept seeing a few 340/360 at meets etc after seeing them often for £400 i though perfect strip it out noisy exhaust you know manta spec.

First i tried to buy a 1.7 360 5 door for £500 but the guy was giving me the run around ''im out this weekend next weekend will be better, gotta work next weekend'' you know the drill

second was a 1.4 340 3 door looks better than a 5 door but a bit under powered got out bid any way

Third time lucky Volvo 340 1.4 GL B reg 30,000 miles not much info in the description but it was from great north air ambulance (a charity) and was about 10 miles from my house i thought it was too good to be true tbh the mileage especially

after talking it over with my partner i was going for it set my limit at £700 1 hour before the end it was at £565. 5 mins before im watching my phone starts to buzz (and i do) with bids coming in adn the price creeping up 5 seconds to go £710 bid......Congratulations winning bidder £645

so i arrange to pick the car up yesterday morning and thought id take as friend who has more of a clue about cars than me to make sure there is no real problems and try get some money knocked off. the guy showing us the car was quite ruff to say the least saying you bid you pay that if you dont like it just leave it i dont mind, jokingly but still. my mates looking around the car...''oo new exhaust, fluids are good'' starts up first time quiet as a mouse...ill just give him all the money.

looking over it last night honestly its good as new the interior is any way not a mark on anything. a few buts of surface rust on the arches and a few little bits on the front spoiler would you call it. drives faultlessly too only problem i am having is starting it back up warm im not sure if its just one of the cars quirks, just a bit of throttle or none or what any ideas would be appreciated. Anyway as im driving it looking around im thinking this car is way too good for me and defiantly way to good to....well change. it even still has the old l/MW radio

long story short iv finally got a 340 but in away haven't this one needs locking away bringing out a few times a year regular service hugs and kisses ill put the few pics on i have and try to get some better ones when i polish it up at the weekend.

PS. when i have looked through the parer work the old timer who had it before me had kept a hand written log of all the work he had done to it and the mileage when he had done it. he even sold the car then a new page starts with Round 2 when he bought it back

That looks to be in fantastic condition, too good to go smashing in to walls.

To start from warm use about half throttle, otherwise the engine will quickly be drowning in fuel and you will never start it. The open throttle let's more air in to get it going. Works every time on my carburettor 360.

Lovely looking car, keep ontop of that rust as soon as you can as so far it doesn't look too serious. Hope you enjoy it!

Yes, far too good to drift. That front number plate make it look like a D reg, had to do a double take!
