Hi Gang,
My name is Alex. I have been a long-time-listener/reader/300mania is dominating my google search results/first-time-caller. I'm a new member from Australia. I have an unhealthy obsession with volvo's and am on my fifth 360 GLT and currently own three (running low on space). It's nice to finally be a part of the team and I hope that someday soon we can all kick Arse and chew bubblegum together

Yes, 5

It all began 4 years ago when I bought my first immaculate and origional 360GLT. It was clearly a match made in heaven, until... A red-light-running maniac

made light work of us both. Since then I have been collecting them at every opportunity and in any condition (as they are quite rare in Aus). I intend to to have one converted to a coffin, for when I die. After some extensive rust treatment, of course

Hey Logan,
HAHA yeah, I was starting to notice that I had an obsession with them. I dont even know if there is 12 360's left in AUS.
What kind of parts could you get? I was chasing a 3 post rear wing... and a b234F haha. I have a complete donor car and a cupboard full of spares, but its always nice to know that I may have a few options. Most Auto parts places in Australia dont even recognise the volvo 360. You most likely already know, but Aus only got the 360's (84-88>?) with the 2.0l B19E or B200e. Are these engines actually identical? I was under the impression they were...

B19e has a silver rocker cover, lower compression, higher friction but forged internals.

I thought it was only the 23ET that was forged? And in my experience mark 3, so late 86 and up for us, are 200E. The spoiler in question is standard on mark 3 GLTs, i have 3 spare, but i imagine shipping wouldnt be cheap.
There are some differences eg the 19 is pushrod rather than the B200s sohc
I also have a 234 sitting in the shed that im just holding on to for now.
Are your aerials on the roof?

B19E doesn't have any forged internals, it also has a higher compression ratio than a B200. B19 is NOT pushrod

.... it also has a single overhead cam.
Essentially the B200 is just a slightly modernised design of the B19.

I thought all the older ones had forged internals?
What is the compression of a b19e then? My 86 B200E is 10:1 I thought they were lower? My 84 B19A I sold had a compression of 8.5:1.
Learn something new every day.

No I believe only the B23ET ever had forged internals.
You're right - I'm totally wrong about the compression ratio though! I think I was confusing the fact that early B200's are high compression and assumed the B19's were higher still. Later B200's have a lower compression ratio after '87 (but still higher than the B19 by the looks of things!).

If you can count how many you have you don't have enough
