My 360 + Plans!

Post by howe » 03 May 2018 06:46 pm

Hi all,

I've been using the site and FB group for a good while to troubleshoot/find info but haven't been posting about my 300 and I'm planning on getting a few things done with it so I figured I'd make an introduction post.

This is my 83' 360 GLE saloon (B19A), I bought it in June of last year after seeing it on car and classic and had it sat in the garage for half a year before I passed my test and got it insured in january.
I'm 18 and in Cumbria, it's my first car and I'll hopefully be keeping it a long time :D

It has some rust just under the window on the n/s rear door and a few scrapes left by someone with a trailer on my street, but other than that it's basically rust free and has held up great.

The previous owner posted about the car prior to my purchase here:
http://www.volvo300mania.com/uk/forum/v ... 83&t=15767

It needs a little attention to the bodywork, and I'll be fixing most of it in the coming months. I did attempt to find a breaker with the same paint code so I could clean up the trailer damage but it seems like I'll be going a different route.

I'll be making a project thread soon to detail everything I plan to do with the car and show its progression over time :D

It's good to see this hasn't ended up slammed with a welded diff. What do you have planned for it?

It's far too clean to rag it :D

I'll be fully sorting the bodywork soon but the more immediate plans are to polybush all round, update the suspension & drop it a fair amount, etc.
Eventually it'll have a 2.3 turbo swapped into it, but I want everything else sorted first.
I have a set of SSR MK1's to go on with some adapters when I get it at a nice height too.

I'm planning to make most of the major changes reversible and keep it as clean as possible, it really is a shame about the marks on the passenger side.
I have the carb to sort in the next week or so, and the exhaust after that.

Hi mate and welcome.
I also drive an 83 GLS hatch as a daily. You don't half
get some looks along the road lol.
Cheers Mark.
