Thnx guy´s!

Ive been looking for a real good MK1 for a long time. Ive seen about 15, but non where good (and one was too expencive). Then I decided I wouldn´t look any longer, and I would restore my other MK1 ( http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5199/p1012547ks2.jpg ).

Some months later, my sis needed a car, so I looked for a 340, but came across this. Bought it for real little money too.

So now its up to decide. Restore the 77 red one, or make this one to what I want...

Leave the silver one stock, restore the red one depending on the work needed and if it's not too rusty! That red one looks great with period accessories

A very hard decision, which one to keep. The silver 343 looks lovely ... but the red '77 is definitely the rarer model and well worth restoring. All a question of time, space and money, really!

You can never have too many 300s. I guess in around 5 years we'll be kicking ourselves for not having kept the ones we've sold on, or snapped up the last remaining good ones for little money. But - you need to have space, and need to be able to move them around every now and then (leaving a car standing for too long isn't too great). And for a project, you need time, commitment, cash ...

At the very least, you need 3x300s. One project / restoration car, one perfect car for the summer, and a slightly ratty MkIII for the winter ;-)

Tom

PS Which are the other two? I seem to remember another Mk1 in battleship grey (or light blue?)

From that list, I'm missing the "perfect car for the summer" unfortunately. Unless the Merc counts. I don't drive that if its cloudy ;-)

As space with the other cars is limited, I've just got the project car. She's not a fan of these cold mornings now though. I wish curry's would hurry up with the battery for my camera so i can take some photos.

No, I sold the silver/blue one with the bad paint to somebody of the V3C. Nice car but had an accident yesterday I heard. Well see what the damage is...

Got now:
- 360 GLS saloon 1984 on LPG (daily) (would be the ratty one)
- 343 DL 1980 3door (the silver one above) would be the summer car
- 343 DL special 1977 3door on LPG(the red one) would be the projectcar
- 340 GL 1983. 3door. Needs an engine replacement for the second time
(- Amazon 121 1964 on LPG, gets welded, and sold directly)

(- german 340 Diesel to take apart: I want to build a 340 '83 on diesel. That would make it a véry cheap car to drive, as you dont have to pay TAX for cars above 25)

I found a good shed to store one or more cars. So maybe I'll conserve one or 2 for over a couple of years...
