heres my ebay 340, some may remember it.

its just ticked over 49k, runs great, k&n filter, straight through centre pipe, lowered 50mm up front and back, with gearbox oil front dampers and landy rears, and mgbgt v8 wheels, mk2 golf front valance and splitter, there rest is totally stock and damn near mint everywhere else, thats pretty much how shes staying, although i will probably drop it another 25mm.

Image

and with photoshopped red centre wheels, not sure which i prefer though, opinions please?

cheers guys :)

Noticed I've not posted in here! I'll use that generic picture that I seem to be using everywhere:

Hi everybody!

I´m from Sweden and I just got myself this 340DL from 1984. He is named Bruno (pun on the swedish word for brown - brun) and he has done 5900 km since new. He´s got the B14 engine and a manual 4-speed gearbox. One careful owner (old man) from 84 to 09 who serviced it regularly and took good care of his car. I´m planning to use Bruno as my everyday runaround, and maybe do some work along the way. First up: Fixing the leaking exhaust and adjustning the bad camber, then perhaps fixing some rusty spots on the bodywork. And if Bruno don´t have any nasty suprises for me, I might change the interior and do a paintjob. Brown isn´t my favorite colur, neither inside nor outside... A lot of people seem to change the engine and gearbox over for more powerfull stuff, convert to fuel injection or ethanol or rebuild their cars to race specs. My mechanical knowledge stretches to changing the engine oil, air filter and sparkplugs, so I guess I will keep the B14 and gearbox as long as they work properly.

Some pics.

Leave it brown! It is very much the fashion of the era. If you don't like brown then learn to love it.

I once sat in a Citroen Visa that colour and it was waaay more brown the that. The dash was brown, the steering wheel was brown. It was brown overload.

Brown is the new black. Brown cars are easier to find in the big car parks.

Besides it's not brown, it's beige. Shit-brown is more late 1970s, than early 1980s.

I have/had two brooners.

The second one is a metallic brown.

Well... My main issue is keeping Bruno running as long, pain-free and cheap as possible. So I guess I don´t really care that much about the looks of the car. If I had wanted a looker in the first place, I probably would have bought something else. Although it´s kinda cool in a retro, ugly-looking way... 8)

But it has a clock, a ciggy lighter and headlamp wipers! De Luxe spec :-)

I like the brown / beige combination too. It suits a 1984 car ...

Cheers
