90s videos.... Drive a Box - Buy Volvo....!

Post by TasMan » 07 Jan 2022 11:54 pm

Hi All,

Dodgy subject header maybe... but for those old enough to remember the era of 80s/90s cars it might take you back to better times....
Filmed around Ayr, Prestwick, Kilmarnock in Ayrshire the guy has quite a few videos on his page, loads of cool retro motors to spot.
I am local to Ayr so it has particular interest.

Spot the 300 series back in the day... https://youtu.be/PJC2kvZxMtg
This is driving round 'Burns Square' in Ayr where there used to be a Volvo Main Dealer (Glen Henderson) right next to the Odeon cinema. Incidentally Odeon Ayr was the first purpose built Odeon built in Scotland, 1938, very art deco....!
Amusing news clipping I found below...

Check out the GLT? close up.....https://youtu.be/jpbaxKV6RDA The reg now corresponds to a Volkswagen ??

Anyway, bit of nostalgia and amazing how times change.... 8)

Hi, Yeah just rewatched that, the video quality is poor, kinda looks like the reflection from the pavement ? The red paintwork looks nice and fresh/shiny, although an A reg in 1994 could quite possibly have had new arches !
My old J plate '91 Escort had new rear arches at 10 years old, good old Ford rot box lol !
