After picking up my ar from the garage and talking with the guy who did MOT, I collected all the parts for repair:
Crossmember
Front Valance
Steering Coupling etc....
Only to find that the idiot can't tell the difference between the crossmember and the front bulkhead.
Its the bulkhead thats gone and not the crossmember
So now I have a load of parts in the house that are of no use at all to my car, so in result I am out of pocket and I still need a new 360
I have only one thing to say about the MOT guy
But I would like an opinion on these cars if you would be so kind...

Oh
I realy have it when ppl cant describe things correctly.
Why don't you take some pics of the rusted area and I will give you my opinion of how repairable it is. Remember I am used to welding up very bad amazons and P1800's.

Yes, that does suck.
If you want me to go and check out the GLS, it's only up the road...
If you want a 360 as an everyday car, I think a late GLE carb is the model to have, and that bronze one looks nice...if you can live with the colour.
cheers
James

I was tempted by that red GLT last time it was on the bay, later ones will be toyed up, older ones will be a bit sparse in the goodies department.

No, worst colour is this s**t brown. Only good thing in that colour is that rust is harder to spot

Brown is the worst colour ever, much worse than pink

Ummm Beige or red , IMO the worst two colours for a 340 (god am I gonna get flak from all the pink ladies on the forum ) sorry guys just my opinion
i totally agree mick, red is awful as it fades so badly and looks dreadful as a result. beige constantly looks dirty, as they always look like they should be "gold" but never pull it off.
best 300's colours - Black, Dark Blue, Silver (if clean and with NO rust)
oh and as an aside, white is just a bad idea for cars full stop

Mine is silver and I am tempted by the bronze/beige/buff/whatever late model.
Dai I am used to welding up VW's Types 1 and 2 respectively, I am not sure this will be a goer in the welding stakes (still available if u want it)
Now I have all of my new genuine parts for sale too

Hmm, the red GLT looks good, I was passing by the place the other week when it was first on the bay and was incredibly tempted to contact the seller before going to see if I could have a quick look, but resisted temptation in the end. Trouble is, it is so hard to tell from pictures and one persons (often) biased description. It depends upon what you want from the car, as Chris said, the '89 GLT will have extra toys, and if rust free can be preserved a little longer possibly.

Good luck! It looks clean and tidy, and the red hasn't faded by the looks of things.

Back on the subject of colours the most boring dull colour must be BARE METAL EFFECT paint.
To me it shows a lack of imagination.
