Just replaced original Volvo unit with unit from Maplins. It has CD and connectivity for MP3, USB and (what's the funny little green simcard called?) DS2?
Still original speakers though. May upgrade them soon.

You're not wrong Mick - Sony gear of that generation is a LOT better than the current stuff.

Mainly your taste in music

Just kidding, it's amazing how good a set of 6x9s can end up sounding - I was very impressed by Dekay's setup. I just wouldn't be able to live with the fronts-only when I took the shelf out, which at one point was most of the time. I think Nessy will get a set of 6x9s when the time comes.
cheers

Time to pimp my new stuff

I'll get some pictures this weekend as it's pretty much complete now.
Blaupunkt Cassablanca CD-51 Headunit (Yes Carl, it's still working perfectly

)
Maystar 4x50w Amplifier powering:
Infinty 50.5cs components
Kenwood 12" subwoofer (which is actually a bit pants tbh)
However, once I turn the tweeters down by moving a jumper over in the crossovers I will be pretty damn pleased with the outcome! I've said it before but it is truly amazing what a difference amping a decent set of fronts makes.
Headunit soon to be possibly replaced with a newer Blaupunkt mp3 cd player in the same range. Although there are other things that have priority at the moment!
Dekay, the reason for the liking of your old HU was that it was from the 5* range, even the new 3* range sucks in comparison

But they're stlil not bad, just not as many features!
