Sorry guys the redline passed its mot so you will have to put up with me for another year at least,
Just needed a new tyre headlight adjustment and emissions adjustment
total cost including the certificate £110.00
few advises ,

car wont idle (it dos now )

front tyre sidewall cracking (that will be the tyre thats had a slow puncture since before stondon  )

rear exhaust rubbers perishing ( happens every year )

play in steering rack

so all in all not a bad day ,

Really :P

Yeah I know, I was a shock when the old 360 failed and we had to get rid of her :( We knew there was rust on her, but didn't realise it'd be too bad to fix :(

Good news Mick! We'd have got it sorted somehow if it had failed. I nearly called by today, but things ended up being a major rush, set off for Croydon after the rush hour to avoid traffic on the 25, did some work and measured up there, home, then all the way to Kettering to look at a van, which ended up being a waste of time. I'd have probably missed you anyway if you were at the MOT station anyway! No mention of the front box sections under the bonnet? I don't think they can be too important to the MOT.

every 340 ive had has had the advisory "play in steering rack"

I used to learn mechanics with a Daf / volvo Guru who said the 300 racks always feel like that.........

dont let 'em fail you on the rack :)

Took Maggie for the MOT yesterday. Sailed through after standing for 2 1/2 years (just had to adjust the carb), no rust and no play in the rack!

I was an MOT tester for 7 years and that is the first one I've ever seen with no play in it, other than one I'd have just tightened up so it could pass the test.
