Hey Peter,
Welcome in the volvo 300 mania Family. You have a very nice volvo. The motor 1.7 is very
efficient in the volvo 340.
I really appreciate as you specify in your message to drive a rear-wheel driving car and I like to
brag while showing my passengers how my volvo 343 makes half turn. They are all impressed.
It's just the 340pw.

My dream car is the 240 2.3 Glt saloon.
And a nice low milage ones come up for sale.
It's still rwd. But a giant heavy barge. I'm I big lad, 6'4 and 19 stone so the big 240s gonna be a lot more comfortable.
The leather and pas/ music/ electrics/ sunroof won't hurt either kev.

To be honest, that's the ONLY thing that would make me sell the 340.
Going up to my ideal dream car.

And I've heard they're easy to turbo convert.

To be honest VND... you'd be surprised how small a 240 actually is inside... I doubt it'll be much bigger than a 340, especially width wise. All of the 240's 'size' seems to be the bonnet and boot!

Plus the only ones that are easy to turbo convert are late ones with LH2.4 injection, - and it'll still cost. Mechanical fuel injection for the lose

Still, saying all that - I really like the one you're looking at for sale

1985 - Volvo 360 GLS
2008 - Volvo S60 SE Lux

Cheers for the dimensions info Steve.
I was just presuming bigger car = more space. :?

Still want it like.
The only -point is selling the 340.
Took it for a good run round the twisty B roads in south northumberland last night. And got the big smiles. :D :D

You ever considered the 360 GLT Ben?, bigger engine and they go well, kinda mid way between the 340 and 240.

I hated them til I saw yours mate. Heard alsorts of poor reports about them.
Then since you got yours, a couple of lads on rr have snagged 400s too man, and the general consensus is that they're actually nice cars.
Anyone else had one?

I know I'm no thrasher, but I really don't like fwd.
But I'm sure I'd get over that pretty quick if a fully loaded 400glt came up cheap enough.

Blimey, good luck with finding a 440 that HASNT got knackered wheel arches! General consensus says that they were rubbish, but then again a lot of people said that about the 300's......

Having said that, I got the chance to drive a 440 Turbo years back, very quick in a straight line, but a little hairy round the bends...

If the 240GLT doesnt happen could I suggest an 850?
