Has anyone had The Nod?

Post by 5150 » 24 Dec 2006 02:42 pm

I was driving the missus home to visit her folks for Christmas yesterday and was overtaken by an F-reg 360 on the motorway - the driver and passenger both grinned and gave us The Nod!

Has anyone else had it? I reckon we'll all be like Beetle and Mini owners soon - horns parping and all that!

Merry Christmas!

Ahhh, the true sign of a future classic! I've not had any responses yet, I'm normally the one getting odd looks saluting passing 300's! I nearly did twice yesterday, then realised they wouldn't have any idea what I was on about as I was in the van!

I've had it a few times in the 700. Normally from other modified fwd volvos such as a orange c70 a couple of months ago.

Never had the nod in a 300 yet though.

Yep, ages ago - sorry!!

It would've been on the M11 somewhere between London and Cambridge. I would've been pootling along at about 65 (trying to stop the fuel gauge visibly moving, as it does at 70 and above)....

Good to see you back.

Not a 300, but I saw an owner of a 700 series at the supermarket yesterday and had a quick chat on the way in. The car looked in very good nick :)

Happened again today - a red H-reg estate. I got a thumbs up! :D

I was so astonished that I didn't think to look at what model it was!

I smile fanatically at pretty much anyone in a 300... they must think im very strange as i've been driving a fiesta untill today! Also it seems that all 300 owners in Norwich are about 100 years old.

I always get a funny look when I wave at 300s, as I'm drivin a 106!

Always a friendly lot though aren't we? My C.I at cadets ( owns a V40 and a 240 previously) and myself were talking to a chap at Kington Vintage car show for a good 10 min about his mint F-Plate Redline, told him it should of been in the show not the carpark!
