The most beautiful 340 from eastern Europe is mine

Post by sorin_ms66 » 08 Feb 2007 09:17 pm

Hello, V3M members,

I can announce all of you that I am the owner of the most beautifull 340 existing in whole Romania and I guess nobody in east side of Europe has one more beautifull than mine. I am not a new one here (I am member of V3M since 2005), but I use more frequently the French section. Romanian is a latin language and it is member of French speaking community of countries.

Please allow me 1-2 working days, to find our how to insert pictures here and I will do it.

Sorin

You need to upload them to something like http://www.photobucket.com and then put link to photos here using Img tags, that is Img button at above this text area when you are writing message. It is not possible to directly attach photos here.

I am just attaching several pictures with my 340. As you will can see, there is a standard model (year 1990, version DL, 1.4 liters engine). The car have had only one owner before me (a lady from Netherlands) and it has full service book. All changed spare parts have been replaced with Volvo original parts, so I can say the car is in an exceptional technical condition. This is a quite performance for a Volvo owner from Romania (here the life level is significant lower than in England, but the Volvo spare parts costs are, most of them, higher than in your country). Almost no rust. Small scratches will be repaired within one or two days. Except the driver seat (wich has a small piece light damaged), the interior is as good as new. I do intend to keep this car untill my retirement :D
Now the pictures must be in your inbox. Thank you very much.

Are you allowed to import old cars into Romania? I thought cars imported to Romania had to fulfil the Euro 3 emission standards - a law made mainly to boost sales of new Dacias ...

Nice car, like the body-colour bumpers! I guess you're on the lookout for a couple of alloy wheels too?

about import cars in Romania and alloy wheels

Post by sorin_ms66 » 14 Feb 2007 02:08 pm

- Indeed, I am looking for two alloy wheels, originals, due to the fact I only have two, for now. When I got the car it hadn`t alloy wheels. I found out those 2 sticks you can see in pictures and I am looking to get 2 sticks more. Unfortunatelly, the 340 I`ll go te get it from north Germany hasn`t alloy wheels. Anyway, I pay much more importance to the technical conditions of the car than to those alloy wheels.

- I would like to buy from Germany a coffee filter for cars (working with 12 volts) or a water boiler designed for 12 volts use. I am a great coffee drinker so I would like to have such a "improvement" in the car. Any suggestions about where to get such things (no matter if new or second hand)?

- Untill Romania got inside in European Union (01.01.07), he laws permited to import in Romania only Euro III cars. Of course, this was a protectionist law, specially made to protect the French investments in the Romanian brand Dacia.
After Romania became member in EU, that law no longer exists. But the damn politicians replace it with another law. According with this new invention, it is possible to import any car registrated in any EU country, but for registrate the car in Romania it must be payed a tax, called tax for the first registration in Romania. This tax is perhaps Europe`s higher, and the economic comission of EU allready warned the Romanian government to stop this tax. For instance, if I want to registrate the 340 wich I am going to get from Germany, I have to pay about 6,000 (six thousand) euros. Can you believe that?
One thing more: when Eu warned Romania to stop this tax, the general manager of Dacia, a french guy named Francois Fourmont, has declared that Renault will shut down one third of its investments in Romania and few thousands workers will loose their jobs, if the Romanian gouvernment will drop down this tax. A strange French way to understand what the market economy means
That`s why I will not registrate the 340 wich I will bring from Germany, but I will only use as spare parts car.

That's because the French only like EU regulations when they directly benefit the French....

Like how they wanted us to reduce the rebate we get from the EU (due to paying far more than anyone else in the first place) so that they can continue to get loads of farming subsidies from the EU so they don't have to modernise like everyone else.....
