G3 cutting compound and a radial buffer should do the trick. Word of warning though, mask off anywhere u dont want the compound to go, such as window seals etc as its a real bitch to get off!!

Yeah, good point Adam, people often don't realise what a PITA it is if you get it on black trim etc, looks fine for ten mins or so and while they're working on it, first sign or rain or water and it shows up as white marks! I've never used and electric buffer, but I think they're only really good for large flat areas, such as the bonnet, roof and larger areas of the door panels, anything intricate and the finishing touches requires elbow grease and doing by hand.

But not for metallic paint surely? All you'll do is scratch the laquer to **** :?

No G3 medium then Fine and a good quality buffer followed by a hand glaze should give a mirror finish.
