Anyone know of any 850 forums..?

Post by Vario Si » 05 Apr 2007 09:33 pm

Well, after saying goodbye to the 340... I did a bit of ebay-ing for a car with long MOT/Tax... and ended up buying an 850 2litre auto (..5204)!

Anyway, I could do with some source of advice etc, cos there appears to be a problem with the 'crank case emission control system'?. I won't go on here though... but PM me if you think you may be able to assist?

Oh... if anyone knows of any good forums to provide info/help it would be great - thanks!

Cheers

Si

Probably EGR valve just needs cleaning, disconnect all breather hoses and clean everything, also take flame trap apart and clean. Haven't done that myself, but have read about that and it should not bee too hard, only location could be bit problem as if I don't remember wrong flame trap was below intake manifold as in red block engines, but really old faint memories from that.

Was following haynes to get to what it called the oil seperator I think - which requires removal of the inlet manifold (as its underneath)- however one of the bolts - bottom left is a right bum to get to - still not loosened that one!

Disconnected everything from manifold... which included flame trap, going to look at that with dad tomorrow and put everything back together and hope I think! Although still thinking as we got so far to get the manifold off to get to the part underneath... if we can get to that bolt.

Hmm

Can't speak from experience but try the VOC forums, or Turbobricks would probably be able to help in one way or another as they are a knowledgeable bunch.

The joys of a different car, something else to mend! Good luck mate.
