Real rally driving with the 360

I already do a lot in the rallyworld. But over a few years I wanna begin with rallydriving. It would be much easier to buy a E30 325 or something else, but its not special, I want to be different. I wanted to order the homologation a month ago, but because of the money I still haven't. Maybe this week I do.

For so far I know, there has been one rally 360 in the netherlands, about 10 years ago. Is there any in other countries? (I mean the official road rally's)

I keeping my eyes open for the car it its gonna be. I want a in body good shape 3 doors GLT. And start with building it up slowly. There's no rush.

I want to drive the Dutch rally championship.

Grtz.

Sure there has been Rally cars:

Not very common, but some of those have been seen on road rallies.

Typically those seem to be made so that they put lot of custom work on it, for example car in link has Bilstein dampers, Porsche drive shafts and 1030 differential, also FIA papers and full rally history, it was never used on road, but was built to be group A car, as far as I have learned.

Nice one. I think it is not legal in this country to do custom work like that. But I am not for sure. I'll have to wait til I have the homologation.

already made some calls to two 3doors GLT

In dutch I need also a kind of MOT on the car if it is in use for rallysport.

In 1980, a Volvo 343 won the European Rallycross Championship (the 300's biggest sporting claim to fame AFAIK). That might be a nice car to base your rally car on ...

... but maybe try to avoid doing any of this :-)

That 343 aint possibel for road rally here. Evertything on that car would be illegal. Rallycross is much different from Rallysport. (I do like that 343, no doubt) Thanks for that pics.

What I mean is more like this:

I dont know wich coutry this is, I thought Denmark or something.

In Holland the rally goes like this http://members.home.nl/rallyfoto/Almere ... dia_nl.mpg

It is possibel to drive with a almost standard car (some savety specs you must have) So it is possible to begin rally driving Without tons of money :) It is still very expensive, but every autosport is...

Hi there! Very nice! Sounds good, do I hear straight cut gearbox? ( if that are the words) And do I hear double carburettors?

What changes did you do with the car? It is on original ride height, isn't it? Do you use koni's? Other springs? do you have an LSD?

Sorry for the many questions, but i like it ver much. (i only would't have choose the Vauxhall manta wheels :))

50% holland - 50% uk ,sort of.....
the car was driven by various works drivers before we got it and even won some championships/events. it competed all over europe[wrc events] but in scotland it had its best results winning the championship in the mid 80's driven by Ivor"the driver"Clark. Ivor's driving style was said to be like a string of near accidents!!! :D i think it was in 1987 it finished 37th on the rac, not bad considering there was over 200 starters and they had some problems. i've some old rally books etc with photo's of it,but it would be nice to eventually trace its whole history......

The homologation papers are arrived. There are not many "variant option" as example it is only "legal" to drive with original injection system, exhaust manifold, inletmanifold, etc. Or do I see this wrong? (You must also have the papers, bilbo?)

what is your view on this?

And another problem I think, only the MKII is homologated, wich is almost impossibel to find anymore, in Holland. Especially the 3-door. (They are all destroyed/used by the V360 Cup)

yes you are limited really...the only thing you can do is modify the diameter of the inlet/exhaust ports of the manifold's !?! were you thinking of building a group H car ? i think thats what they call it now in europe....you can use 4 doors though !!! see extension number 01/01 VO [if you have it]

and yes its only mk2's but i'm sure a person like you could make a mk3 look like a mk2 quite eaisly

Make a MKIII look like a MKII, thats a good idea. I want a 3 door, because I think it looks better, and is maybe a little bit stronger. I also has to be a GLT...

The 360 is a group Y car right now, the homologation is longer than 10 year ago..

What do you exactly mean with "were you thinking of building a group H car ?"

Thanks for the answers!
