My 360 GLT

Hi, I am quite new here and a big 360-fan. I used to live in Sweden and had all kinds of 340´s and one 360GL. Then I moved to Germany and a drove a480 S for a couple of years and found my dreamcar, the 360 GLT three months ago. It´s from november 1985 but the specs are for 1986, the first owner was Volvo Germany GmbH, it was used for promotion. After that the car was used by an elderly man until i bought it.It is white, has a black leather interior with sunroof, heated frontseats, GT-steering wheel, the foggies up front and of course the GLT wing on the bootlid and the small GLT-lip in the front. The only changes that are made for now are, replacing the non-functional org. radio with an VDO-unit and the wheels are Ronal Turbo R, 7x15" et37, fit pretty good. My plans are to lower it a bit, stiffen up the suspension and build my own exhaust. There is hardly no rust on it which is nice, and there will be some other mods like making a mold of the sunroof and get one made of carbonfibre instead..some other weight-reducing activities will also take place...but the org-looks will remain. Kind regards from Germany!

Hey Mate
Welcome!! Very nice car especially like the rims! They're normally used on the Golf aren't they?
No mudflaps?
All the best.

Hi Jay, thanks! Yes, those rims are often seen on Golf 2`s in Germany and on various Opels. No mudflaps...no, but there will be white rallymudflaps from OMP fitted soon..but I will try to cut them small and discrete.
Greetings

I often wondered what Ronal Turbos would look like on a 300. Now we know the answer is "awesome"
cheers

Hi Risto your car does look top with those rims on. I like simple little mods that clean things up. What are you doing with the exhaust?

Hi Dai, thanks!I am looking for shocks, Lexmaul will help me with some Konis and will do a crosscheck for suiting Opel-springs up front, a guy from a neighbourvillage will produce the blocks. The same guy will make mold of my sunroof and the new one will be made of carbonfibre. The GLT needs to loose some height.Well..the straight part of the exhaust and the first silencer were pretty rusty, so I replaced it with a long 2" pipe and a smaller and thinner silencer. The rest remains org because of its immaculate condition. It´s slightly louder than the org.system...but the response is much better...I went for a testdrive and am very pleased. Not a costy investement but with a nice result. Later I will replace the rest of it too but not yet...

I thought you would have been changing the back box as they are quite restrictive.
You will have to let us know what they come up with shock wise.

Risto,
Your 360 does look good! Is there any chance you could post some pics and more details re your new sunroof (when done)? I think an alternative such as this would be pretty popular seen as the originals are so prone to rust.
Cheers!

Hi Dave! Thank you. As soon as the bloke can get started with the sunroof, I will get some pics made. The mould can of course be used for more than one sunroof when first made. I removed the sunroof once and that thing is pretty heavy...so hopefully there will be some weightreduction..and of course..I hope it will look pretty cool.
Cheers!

Love the wheels. I'm torn between them or minilites.
