You do know how little power some Rover V8s (3.5) made, right? Sure, we're talking more than 100bhp, but the hottest stock motor they ever made was about 170bhp. I'm pretty damn sure some of the later Range Rover engines were down to the 120-130bhp range. You can commonly get that from a NA 1.6 these days!

Of course then we get onto powerband width, and the value of peak BHP figures...but assuming we're ignoring that, stock Rover V8s suck, and the same is true of many US V8s. The difference is you can get loads of cheap tuning parts for US V8s... Yes I know the Rover V8 is a Buick unit :-P

cheers

my 2.5 litre 960 volvo estate was good fun , a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing. and I used to own a 1760cc stage 3 engined 1600e cortina with twin 40 webbers and full janspeed system ,duplex timing gear , fully lightened and balanced engine , ive also driven a drag strip prepped plymouth barracuda , a 3.0 litre savage engined cortina mk2 , jaguar xj12 coupe (5.3 litre) opel monza 3.0 and an ex police rover sd1 3.5 traffic .car the best was the barracuda which had line lock on the front brakes ( allows rear wheels to spin madly while front brakes locked on )great for burnouts , not so good for rear tyre life .and a chain operated device to bypass the exhaust and dump the gases straight from the manifolds .

hmm for me a fully modified Subaru WRX 2003 i think. dont quote me.turbocharged, NOS everything done to it. I had never driven a turbo in my life, got in, man such an easy car to drive. Did 110 around a bend and encountered an intersection 80m up. That was fun...

I dont think anything compares to my friends 180SX illegal as due to the mods, owned by the ricerocket farm (he owns a caryard for all that junk). My god if anyone ever has the pleasure of visiting australia's dreamworld and riding the tower of terror, though its not the same, the car just pins u in ur seat like that ride. I had the pleasure of going on the Wivenhoe car cruise which is about 58mins one way.

Mmm, if only i could do that to my volvo, but i know it wouldnt be the same.

Last week i got to take the volvo im getting up to the shopping centre, i was loving it until i got to the carpark and it started to struggle, i looked at the fuel gauge. Lo and behold, it was just above empty (i decided the gauge was a little faulty and it was dry as an arabs mouth in the sahara) but my mum kept trying to convince me it wasnt.

My god, women, i refused, and parked.
And i was right, its just not rocket science,

SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, THE OWNER HAS COME BACK SO ANYTIME NOWWWWWWWWWWW.

one question - does anyone else dream, daydream, think about their 300's uncontrollably if ever????
