My new Volvo..

Post by BillyWhizz » 25 Oct 2004 01:10 pm

Hey. Newbie here.

Just been given a Volvo 360GLE by a mate thats emigrating to Oz. Its got 169,000 miles on the clock - I've drove it this morning to work and everything seems fine with it. He told me that it only cost him £60 to get it through its last MOT.

How long can I expect it to run for? Isn't 169k miles very high?

169 isnt particularly high, specially for a 360.

check there are no rust spots emerging - if there are its best to get them sorted before winter sets in. its also a good idea to get the car waxoilled before winter, to seal the underside

Hello and welcome!

You can expect 500.000 km with a B19 / B200 engine, that's the highest mileage I know (360 GLT from the member Knüt on the french forum)

WOW!

Sounds good.

They're very comfortable to drive too aren't they? I'm very impressed.

500,000km is pretty extreme - didnt know any had made it that far.

having said that, if nessy was younger she'd easily have made it to 400,000km - she made it up to 292k already :)

250,000 is easy for a 360 - but do the obvious checks....cambelt age is the main one! Also if you've just picked it up, do yourself a favour and give it a service.

Come to the meet next weekend - see the thread in 'Events'!

cheers
