I know we have many overseas members and I do not wish to upset anyone but I feel very strongly about this .

this is political correctness gone mad

it has been decided that the Red Arrows cannot fly at the 2012 olympics because they are toooo British
.

do the right thing and sign the petition

Had done already. I'm a big fan of the Arrows, and I thought the opening ceremony was supposed to show the world us? I'm all up for getting the country to go round in top hats and tails, or street urchin dress, and drinking tea and eating cucumber sandwiches all day whilst its going on tbh. Might as well reinforce the myth ;)

Pip pip, squire! eh what!
Jolly good idea that man!

We should all decorate our houses with turrets and dig moats too!

I'm going to start growing a handlebar moustache immediately!

Edit:
I've just read the petition, as there were no cited sources or anything to back up the claim and there is already a response by the government.
It is not true to suggest that the Government has banned the Red Arrows from celebrations to mark the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The organising committee of London 2012 will decide what to include in the celebrations - but with five years to go, decisions are yet to be made on what the celebrations will look like, although you can be assured that they will be a spectacular showcase of Britain's best.

I'm not saying don't show support (I still signed it!), but it's clear that there is a lot of spurious "information" on the internet.

Although I'm actually not british, would it be okay if I signed the petition too?
Red arrows rock!

[Edit] Oh bummer, only british residents can sign. Damn. :(
