365 GLE B200K

Hey guys,
I have a 89MY 360 GLE with the B200K. Its about to get a set of 15" 440 5-spoke (T5 like)
alloys, and some engine mods. I'll get you some pics when its all done.
It's far too sluggish above 3000rpm, so I'm fitting a different cam, and re-tuning the carb to
compensate. A dyno simulator (sounds dodgy, but its actually amazingly accurate) suggests
it'll be chucking out 128bhp after that.
The long term plan is to fit a B230ET (2.3 turbo from a 740), giving 200bhp without much
trouble....I just need the insurance to get cheaper!
There seems to be a little mis-information in some of these posts.....just a couple of things I've
spotted...
a) The 360 does NOT have a 740 turbo gearbox.
b) The drivetrain can stand up to differing amounts of abuse depending on your driving style.
Personally, I don't know anyone who has had any trouble (I drive my factory spec car
hard....4000rpm clutch dumps, etc). However, I know of people with factory spec cars who
have broken gearboxes and driveshafts / halfshafts, while I know of several high HP cars that
are going just fine. Bear in midn that its TORQUE that kills transmissions, so if you're exerting
those kinda forces (ie: standing 1/4 mile dashes), watch out! The guys with the big-bhp 360's
mainly do rolling starts. You also need to watch for the rear axle bending, and ruining the
handling!
Have you guys seen this site: http://www.higgins340.fsnet.co.uk ? I've chatted to
these guys for ages - Kev is running a B230FT with 305BHP in his 360 no problems, and Mark
is in the middle of a B234FT custom conversion (incl the turbo from a T5). Should be fun!
We ought to arrange a France-UK meet-up (can you guys speak english? I'm afraid my french
is bad...). I'm well up for the road-trip, although I'd need to get a passport!!
Finally, my congratulations on the best designed 300 series site yet - WELL DONE!!
cheers
James
