Well, if you're getting rid of the spoiler I'm sure someone would like to buy it off you :)

I'd be interested, if no-one else is. The slightly bonkers thing is that I already have one on a car I'm planning to sell....but I'd like to keep it original.

cheers

Cheers fella's!

My car is fine but still at the mechanics as the master cylinder was leaking everywhere. I'm having it re-sleeved rather than getting a new one, takes a couple of days to do. I'm going to the wreckers on thursday or so.

Also, can anyone tell me which wheels will fit with regard to offset?? There are heaps of wheels in 4 x 100 PCD, but does it matter if the centre bores and offset are different? Most 15 inch wheels are 38-40 offset.

I've got a set of wheels off a gemini on mine, not sure of the exact offset, but they are usually 20 or even lower, they fit well on the front, but one of the sets of tyres i used on the rear used to scrub the guards when i had the car fully loaded and the trailer on, then hit a bump, not really a big deal, just touched the guard without bending it or damaging the tyre. I think the extra track looks good and might be of a benifit if you are going to do hillclimbs ect.

Standard offset for our cars is 35 from memory so most 4 x 100 aftermarket wheels are around that. the centre bore isn't really an issue, the rears just mount to a flat surface anyway, and the bore on the front is 52 odd mm, you won't find a wheel with a bore smaller than that, you can get rings made up to fit the bigger bores of aftermarket wheels but i have never bothered and i've had no hassles in the two years i've had my car.

If you wanted to keep the standard wheels you could run a falken rt615 on them. but i can almost guarantee your wheels will end up looking like 50c pieces, they are very soft.

You'd probably have to saw the thing in half ;-) Shipping costs from Aus are something to be reckoned with

Thanks for the info dalahare! Heaps of wheels around for $250-$300 for a set of 4. Any other volvo ones I should look out for in the same size if I can get cheap?

An expensive set of wheels seems pointless on the volvo but I really like the look of the Simmons/BBS style 363 CS wheels!

Postage is a bizatch! probably around 50 pounds minimum!

BTW, the spoiler mounts with 4 threaded rods into the bootlid. A later spoiler would not cover all of these holes!

I think volvo 440 are the only wheels that fit from other volvos, not very common here in Aus, and I think, though i could be wrong, they are still 5.5 inch wide like the 360 mags, your better off finding something from another car wich is 6-7 inches wide to allow the use of some better tyres.

Got my car back tonight! Motul fluids oil/gearbox/diff, brakes overhauled, timing reset.

Found that someone had fiddled with the air flap and stuck it open, which is why it is hard to start sometimes. I'm in two minds about fixing it. Runs fine to me!!!!

Now to enjoy it before I get any strange ideas!! :P

Air flap? In the airflow meter?

I'm guessing he means the one which directs either cold air from the front of the car, or hot air from around the exhaust manifold to the intake. That shouldn't cause a cold-start problem though, as the air from the manifold won't be hot then.

cheers

Having the flap fully open at start means that the position of the air sensor affects the ignition process and you only get enough fuel on the 3rd or so crank to start it.
