I dunno about Peugeot 306's. They're pretty and have a good ride, but reliability is so important in a DD! My parents (only interested in getting from A to B) made the mistake of buying two consecutive Peugeots after many years of owning VWs (yes sorry, I wasn't born into a Volvo family :-)). Needless to say, after a totally duff 405 (which I also inherited unfortunately) and a tinny, rattly 306 they went back to VW, totally disillusioned. I think reliability statistics pretty much back that up too.

A daily driver needs to work. When they start breaking down on a rainy evening or not starting in the mornings, the fun stops.

T4 is horrible to drive from my experience, specially when it is slippery there is little to no feedback from road, also car pulls left and right very violently, very annoying. Sure it has power so it is quite quick, with little tuning even more quick, but it is not fun to drive from my experience.

When i drove the T4 i noticed on that wet sh** what we have here in Southern Finland it is quite pushy. But i didn't pay any attention to these things because it isn't my car (yet, and to be honest i'm not sure that i want one.) And i haven't driven fwd car on snow for a very long time. So i don't have any idea with what fwd car to compare the T4 with. But i like the relaxing ride of 740 more than the T4. And since i got my licence i have had only owned rwd cars, and surpricingly i'm not dead yet (althougt some people on finnish Volvo forum say that rwd is dangerous and you die instantly when getting behind the wheel of rwd car. And fwd is best  )

Well, I solved part of my problem, I bought a house with another building which has garage too and enough land to scatter tens of 300's around

Moving will be PITA, so I will do that when I have bit more vacation, that means summer.

I try to get some at Sunday, don't know when I can upload them as next week I won't have net at evenings.

House is made at 1950 so it needs some work, but with some effort it should be quite nice place, well following years will show that ;)

Latest plan  ! Seem to be changing by the day :S Don't think I can scrap the 360 so it seems to be staying, I've just done spark plugs on it and it's made an absolutely massive difference - none of the old bogging down and feels more free revving. If yours are overdue like mine were, please go out and spend £10 on some plugs! Nice but dull T4 will go to fund 300 series pimpnezz and some sort of fwd 50mpg diesel malarkey will have to come into play!

Good man! T4s are good, but ultimately they're only gonna be as good as a modern can be. I really think you can't beat a 300 for laughs.
