Hi all Ive been a member of VOC for many years and also on the voc forum . Very tempted in getting a 340 but probably the small 1.4 engine , only due to the way fuel costs are lately . Our 740 seems to love petrol .
Anyone know what it would cost for a tidy good running 340 , colour is not important .

So, we finally know who the stig is
Take a 1.4 5-gear, if its about fuelconsumption. They still aren't economic though...

I used to get about 45mpg on the motorway, but still not much above 35 around town.

Well, yes. My newly acquired 940 2.0 Turbo gave me 28mpg on the first count. I'm being a bit lighter with the right foot now in a bid to improve that...

1.4 is good for tax too, but I havn't noticed much difference at all between my 1.7 and 1.4 in consumption. Doing casual motorway runs you'll see 200 to £20, doing spirited motorway runs, and depending how spirited you get, it diminishes!
Round town they arn't great, 120miles to £20. Having said that, try and find a moden car of the size that does that...
