Get a 440TD.
Good Points;
Small (ish), easy to drive, handle well, comfyish, good to learn to drive in (has PAS unlike a 340), cheap to insure, cheap to run (esp on biodiesel), reasonably reliable, not fun enough to detract from the main car, when the body finally rots (and it will) the engine can be transplanted straight into a 340 1.7.
Bad Points;
FWD, 440, Diesel.

Terms and conditions apply. This post may go down as well as up. Regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Hard hats to be worn. No reversing without a banksman. No admittance to unauthorized persons. Stop that. Put that down. Leave that alone.

I don't think the 440 td will run safely on veg oil. Been researching this a bit and it's put me off them. At the risk of sounding like a chav twunt, I think I might get an isuzu engined cavalier to run on chip fat, as I can fit the bilstiens, leather etc from my old GSi.

I think you would find that problem what ever car you have. I was not supposed to spend on chip but it has ended up with poly bushes and a few other bits that have cost meSteveP wrote:Yeah does make sense about having a boring 2nd car to concentrate on the 360... I kinda ended up in that situation before with the 343 and accidentally buying accessories for it...
