Quick tuning advice
Hi, i'v got to take the 360 GLS to llandow on saturday becuase my 205 still isnt track ready. I would like the Volvo to be at it's best but i dont have time to buy any parts and fit them so i was wondering if there is anything i can do for free to make it a bit quicker. Heres what i had planned so far:
Bleed the brakes
Possible take the air filter out (i'm going to see what the weather/track condtion is like first)
Set the car up on our SuperTracker
Inflate tyres to 38psi all around
strip out boot aera (spare wheel ect)
remove sterio
Remove hot air pipe from air system
some streamlining with the aid of duck tape.
anything else i can do. I'd rather not take the back seats/interior out so if you can think of anything please let me know.
I'm going to be taking my camera with me aswell so i should have some good vids when i get back

38 psi in the Tyres? O_o seam abit much, planning on drifting it?
I think (but dont quote me on this) someone on the forum said they removed one of the fans to free up a little extra power. could be a problem in traffic though. don't quote me on this and it might be best asking one of the more experienced guys about the matter.

I'm intrigued at the over pressuring, I was thinking it, but worried it would just loose grip eariler. Lame picture, but to give you an idea, I reckon thats about 40degs of sidewall "not-where-it-should-be-ness"

Agreed, I'm running that im my Fiesta Si. Problem with over inflating the tyres like that is you get a bubble effect where the tyre becomes more rounded on the contact patch...when this happens you get less tyre on the road and as a result less grip.Jason B wrote:I sometimes run 31/32F 33/34R does help a bit with keeping the car a little more balanced imo. Never fancied taking the tyres up that far, I'd have thought it would be a lot more drifty.

well i ran 38F and 35R in my 205 last time i tracked it and my mate was running 38 all around in his Fiesta ZS and i'v never had any problems with tyre bubbleing.
Anyway does anyone have any more ideas to add to my list or is this going to turn in to a long debate about track tyre pressures
