Why would anyone do that? What's wrong with people these days...

People say I'm paranoid about security, but these days you never can tell what people will do :(

Make sure you get all the water out before trying to start her. Too much water will increase the compression and could cause more damage. And get it out quick!

EDIT: Oh, you've got it started, well done. I'm only guessing, don't take my word for it, but would running it for a while be a good idea to dry it out?

MJ, you should of seen this guys anger when i over toke him....road rage can be really bad. iam pritty sure it was this chav otherwise why would he be outside my house.. i never even saw his car before i over toke him. found an empty water bottle too.

called the politzi and they said iam making too much fuss over nothing.

wtf over nothing my car is vandalised and most likly dead now.

i have "no proof" and don't know the guys number plate. this is what? the 3rd time the volvo's been picked on and i live in a posh area...dread to think what its like elsewhere.

need to free the garage up asap!

ohh and the clio had a piece of trim nicked off of it when it was parked in sainsburys, got it back :P found a clio in the car park missing that bit of trim and waited for the owner to come back! guess what it was in his helfrauds bag..

Simple explanation for simple people.
Water enters engine lies above piston.
Loon puts spark plugs back in head and then cranks motor over.
Pistons try and rise but due to water in pot struggle as they are designed to compress an appropriate air/fuel mix not water, until critical mass is reached-valves bent to buggery.

That's a worst case scenario if you're lucky and have done no damage-put the lotto on.

Please tell me you cranked it with the plugs out

Ouch! Fingers crossed there's no permanent damage, Will!

I'll go and punch the first Corsa driver I meet, shall I? :D

I'm guessing not, in which case you'll be needing a new engine head (if you're lucky) as water tends not to compress like atomised fuel and air

Tom: Please!

Sven/Jason : turned it over with out plugs before hand... thinkin thats cleared most of it..but i seem to be wrong :?

just got it going for about 6 seconds with aload of bang BOOM! BANG sounds..

but alas battery is as low as i want it to go so is on charge.

i will fix it (possitive) even if it means rebuilding. something else good to throw money at and learn some more stuff. i hope its as easy as bm moters to rebuild! or finish my other moter to put in.

This is another excuse for me to boost my post count ever nearer to yours by spouting endless rubbish ;), however in this case I shall simply recommend the book "mechanics of fluids" by Bernard Massey (chapters 1-3 ought to suffice) as this avoids debates about compressibility effects of fluids and whether systems are adiabatic/isothermal etc - A summary: lots of water + cylinder bores + cranking = BAD!

I don't know what is wrong with kids today, but I certainly would like to beat some kids to some extreme for sure.

My 360 has 2 round dents now at passenger side door, under the door handle. I noticed there was one last weekend, now there is two, when I find out who did it I will make few dent's to his forehead. And no, I'm not believing no violence allowed ways, today's kids are too much of crap for that.

definitely, keep cranking it until all the water is gone and it's running on maybe one cylinder then fill the tank with diesel and enjoy :D

@sven I shall try and hunt down the ISBN (think I left the book in soton though), would make a lovely present for the missus, sometimes you are too generous!
