Cheers MJ looks like a good read.
Think Mrs Sven should be happy with that.

Bad luck dude - there's something about old cars which make them targets for malevolent idiots. I don't understand it. They'll always vandalise a classic over a new car, and yes, people get enraged by being outperformed by a car which is largely considered by the ignorant as being a bit of a joke. I get it on the motorway quite a lot, although Adam's custom grill seems to mitigate this a little.

Human beings are strange people, and an irritating minority of them will go out of their way to spoil your day/car unfortunately... Something to do with their overweening sense of inadequacy I'd guess. F*ck 'em - he's messed up your car but don't let him mess up your head. Just fix it, you've got good mechanical skills and sorting it will be a challenge you'll enjoy.

I think you're right sven, I'd bank on bent valves but I reckon it could be a lot worse depending on how much water was in there (1.7s do have aluminium heads too?)

For the cheapskates/students, you can read quite a bit of it as a free preview on Google Books http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=ator ... I#PPA27,M1

I guess some people prefer damaging old cars as in they're view they're just scrap. And the police aren't as interested, as shown in this case :(

I mean, you shouldn't damage any car, and it would be a pain if your new car was damaged, but when it's new there's less sentimental attachment and you can get new panels and parts dead easy. For our cars you have to search to get bits :(

Some kids have no respect these days, and can't seem to see it from the victims view, that they wouldn't like it if it was their stuff damaged. What's worse is people with no respect for their own property. I heard a while ago about some kid that smashed his PlayStation in a tantrum, then pestered for his parents to buy a new one. They said no for a while, but gave up in the end and bought the brat a new one. that kids going to grow up with no respect...:(

Still can't believe that someone had the balls to sneak up and do that! even more surprised that the thought of pouring water down the carb popped into their tiny mind!

And they'd have needed a 10mm (I think) spanner to get the nut off the air filter, unless it's been replaced with a wingnut.

Just because you don't drive a Corsa and its fast...the chav's fukin hate it. If they'd used their brains in the first place instead of buying a shopping car...wait a minute what am I saying, use their brains? "Chav smash!" *Drags knuckles back to cave*

Water can do a lot of damage - bent the rods in the 2ltr!!

Best bet is clear out all the water then try and get it started

Hmm, costs me about the same to fill up the 940, but I sure don't get that sort of economy

Will, so sorry to hear about the damage to the Redline. That stinks.
