Well I thought I'd get a thread started for the project. So here's a few pics of whats going on atm.
Hehe, pretty much how i got her...I took the grille out though....Do like the look of just a black grille.
Front end off and drivers side wing off...just waiting for the new one to arrive now. Note the rust....hmmm time to angle grind those inners off...or just remove them altogether.
Note the half a shinny engine...still cleaning her up bit by bit.
Not a great deal of progress but progress none the less. And great fun so far.

Good excuse to tub the arches, fit airbags, and lay some sill.

I have a horrible feeling about the arch on mine being similar underneath
OT - you fitted that cage yet fj?

In a quandry with the cage, the shell I was going to put it in isn't as solid as I thought so I'm hesitant. The cage is a bolt-in though so it might not be too much of a problem, being able to move it to another shell later. I'm looking into having a copy made by a local track prep place, before I bolt it all in, as it looks like I'll be needing 2 now, due to a windfall of interesting parts

give me a shout when you know how much a copy would cost, possibly cheaper for two? - I still need one! will continue wih pm [\OT]

body work/respray prep!
Well i told myself i wouldn't, but i did it anyway, I've started removing the sound deadening, and jez am i glad i did! I've only got a little bit of the easy off stuff out of the car so far...and I'm sitting with a bin bag that weighs the same as a spare wheel. All the front mats under the carpet were soaking aswell so I'm pleased their out.
Complete inspect of the car reveals a solid floor and structure...not even a hint of rust under it all..very happy!
On with another few hours off trying to remove a tow bar tomorrow.

Well I've got one side off the tow bar off...But it involved attacking the across bolt under the plate with a dremel. Basicly cutting the nut in half then whacking the bolt out. The other side (Drivers) is going to be really tricky.
