I said £80, not £180.
If you can get a friendly guy to fit a second hand windscreen (or do it yourself), it could be a lot cheaper.
cheers
James

A 2.0 360? In town they're not that clever (20-25mpg), but they're better on a run, especially the B200K carb versions - as I said, I could get 40-50mpg on the motorway at 60-70. The B19A engine in this car may not be quite that efficient, but it shouldn't bankrupt you...and you might actually move

mine does 19.5mpg all the time (dont let this put you off, I have yet to tune the carb properly as I'm soon to take more drastic action and would rather she runs rich than lean), it makes no difference if I drive like a nun or am thrashing it on an event. I have a feeling it keeps chucking the same amount of fuel in all the time and the amount of air I give it controls the power

Without an odometer it's hard to tell, but I am certain mine is on the rough side of 25, and that's when I'm driving it like a nun!
Jason is running the wrong cam and ignition for his carb tuning, so he's knackered to begin with!

25-30mpg too from a GLT, a guzzler really
TBH, Foggy's case of exceptional MPG from a 2.0 is a rarity, and no 300 is that economical unless its a late 5 speed 1.4 or 1.7 which is fully warmed and at a steady cruise. May as well forget it in town
For a 50 mile round trip I'd not choose a 2.0, the other two engine choices will be more economical for that type of journey imo and a 1.7 is pretty much even with a B200K in terms of performance

My B200K wasn't broken, you mean
The downside to the 1.7 vs the 2.0 cars is maintainance / reliability. Quite of them have running problems one way any another. Anyway, it's a bit beside the point, now the green car is sold.
I'd choose your stallion based on how you want to drive. If you're a cruiser, you may as well have a 1.4 5spd. They're not *that* slow, and the cheap tax is always welcome. However, they drink like a fish when thrashed, so if you wanna go fast, get a 1.7...
cheers

I managed to double Nessy's fuel consumption (i.e. halve the MPG) when I decided to put my toe in to get home in time for Top Gear. I was probably only going 15mph faster...
