5lab (Hugh) is still about, he came round to mine last weekend to finish off fitting cruise to his mondeo. He's still as much Hugh as ever, though slightly less bodging

Having said that, we were driving up the road with me poking wires into a plug to make his car do stuff...
Tom, I'm not sure about, a mate of mine found him on another forum a while ago, from a pic mate posted up Tom recorgnised my car enough to ask him if it was me, but that was 18months ago at a guess.

A real shame Hugh's no longer posting here, driving a 300 to Africa is just the coolest thing to do. I just wish I had the time and funds to do something similar ...

I often speak to Tom on MSN , he's as mad as ever and has gone through a couple of cars since moving on from the 300 ,
he even had an allegro at one time,
I will tell him how much he is missed next time we speak.
to be honest the person I miss the most was the owner of the first vario I had ever seen , one MR Will01908 aka Will Plummer.
he disappeared off the radar not long after the Gaydon meet
I cant say I miss A M R that much if at all

I agree about Will, he had some serious knowledge, a very very intelligent guy, and nice bloke alround.

Indeed there are quite a few characters that have moved on, others have moved on in terms of daily drivers, but are still 300 owners and that's where their roots are!
I did email Will a couple of years back and he replied saying how his wife still drives the Vario, but what with other commitments and life being busy in general he didn't find time for the forum etc. I don't know if he's still got it now though.

Maybe some of you could let them though they're still being talked about - it'd be good to hear from some of them!
... and how could I forget
Ricatron 173 posts
bought a georgeous yellow Mk1, came to a meet (IIRC) and disappeared pretty quickly, again, chasing after BMW's ...

I believe Ricatron sold his Mk1 to someone on here, can't remember who though.

Shimon's Dad sent me an email (as VOC reg keeper), and it took me a few minutes to work out a) that he was Shimon's Dad, and b) it was Ricatron's old car. I wanted that car, too
cheers

As one of the 'others' I am still here and somehow not managed to sell the 360 :p - although a banger racer asked to buy her (you can guess what I said)
I come under the category of I drive a 940 daily but can't part with the 'fun' car

There's not many people left here actually daily driving 300s any more
I jumped ship and got a 'beater' when I got sick of seeing the things rusting away before my eyes.
cheers

I know, disgusting, kids these days have no commitment...
SWMBO has decreed that our little Rosie stays for the summer at least - daily driver, business commuter, family car, 23 years old - COME ON!
