im probably goin to have the same problem with Hug..those bodykits are so hard to find but at the same time cause more problems..I dare not remove my side skirts going by yours Steve..

That's a common problem with the cars with bodykit. Sills in my car were in even worse condition when I took off the side skirts to check the condition of sills.

That ebay glt seems to be the answer steve.

Just think, take the bodykit of yours and swap over.

The leather interior and rims wont take 20mins to swap over.

Grab whatever else is handy from your old shell and just weigh it in, don't waste much time parting it out for parts. Unless you sell it to Foggy for a ton and leave him to do all that.

You'd get an easy £100 for it, leaving you only £100 to find, which i'm sure is still cheaper than what your welding repairs would potenially cost on the old shell.

Nice car that GLT, but I really don't think a 300 is any good for me as a single car anymore and running two cars is expensive considering I have to tax, insure and MOT both at the same time due to lack of space.

I think the best option is to go back to one car that forfills my needs better really.

If you so desperately want RWD you either have to go for a classic car to stay with small cars in which case you end up with the same issues as the 300, or you have to go big and get a 940/60 or a BMW or Merc, none of which are cheap to run unless you then pay thousands for an LPG kit.

I know RWD is nice, and I was (still am) an ardent supporter of it over FWD. However, the fact remains that the FWD Volvos are very good cars and that in 98% of driving the fact that the front wheels are driven is irrelevant.

Since getting my S80 nearly 4 months ago I have only wished to be in a RWD car twice - once on a gravel track and the second time driving down the drive of a Golf/Country Club where the thought occured that it'd be fun to do donuts all over the golf course but I couldn't in the S80!

It's certainly a tricky solution by the sounds of it, with no perfect answer. You've just got to decide where to compromise. I'm sure you'd be sad to see the 360 go, but to be fair, with all the goodies removed it's just another 360, and it looks rather rusty atm. The choice of what to do is up to you...

BTW is anyone interested in that GLT on the bay, it looks rather special really, it'd be sad to see it abused by a drifter

If you can't afford to run two cars and the 300 isn't any good as a single car its time to move on.

the cost of extra fuel running a 960 or suchlike would be reduced by not taxing, insuring and running two cars

A would've been cheap to run second car, but if I'm not keeping that AND the 360 I'll be having something rear wheel drive. It had no purpose other than transporting me reliably and cheaply. Which is why I wasn't bothered about it being FWD.

I have no doubt FWD Volvo's are good cars, but just not what I want. I don't need a big, spacious luxobarge, and I think I'd find one a bit boring in all honesty.

The 360's replacement will probably be an S14 Nissan 200SX... alright 25-35mpg and not exaclly cheap to insure, but both of those downfalls are offset by having to only run one car again - in the long run, it works out cheaper than keeping the 360 It's surely a no brainer... no BMW's come close in the same price range really. The only thing it doesn't do is sound very nice

A 1990 325iSE would fit the bill nicely, but you'd kill yourself the first time you took it out in the wet.

I quite fancied it for myself to be honest but not really a family car
