(NOW FOUND) PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN STOLEN VAN

Post by redline » 07 Jul 2008 09:59 am

had a text from Pete Farrell this morning to say his van has been stolen

its a white LDV convoy *****

as most of you know Pete is a cabinet maker by trade so his van is needed for his work

I am guessing it was taken from the Thame Oxfordshire area as Pete lives in that region

I wont put Petes number on here but if you pm me I will pass on any sightings

Ffs, he rang me last night. I'll keep an eye out, Pete used that a month ago to help me move, and anyone who knows him knows this certainly isn't deserved :(

Thanks Mick,
Please help, my LDV Convoy was stolen from near the M40 in Oxfordshire last night (Sunday), it's a super high top, with a very distinguishing spot light above the passenger side of the windscreen on the slope of the roof, two orange beacons on the top and a black spinning vent on the roof, a large metal step on the back, and a dent above each rear light cluster, the n/s has black Kurust painted onto the dent. It doesn't have the standard red fuel filler cap, instead it is a later replacement black one. It's a turbo ford engined version.

It was loaded with a load of custom made panels waiting to go to a job, they are worthless to anyone else, but have taken me weeks of hard work and effort, plus all my tools, it's soul destroying to say the least, not to mention the cost that's involved. If you spot it, please contact the police, and send me a PM. Many thanks indeed.

I had a horrible feeling there might have been some of your work on board let alone the tools

Many thanks everyone, the van has now been found thanks to a mate of mine. I have also got some of the items back from where they'd stolen other stuff from and dumped them.

Things aren't seeming quite so bad, but it's had one hell of an effect, both financially and time wise, and emotionally. Complete scum, I feel sorry for the people who they stole stuff from using my van too, they probably won't ever see their stuff again.

Thanks for your support again guys, and cheers for putting it on Retro Rides and the BX site Mick.

Good to hear it's back!
Did you get your tools and the custom panels back too?

Those pesky thieves make me angry, hopefully they someday find house with nice guard dog that helps their voices to reach few octaves higher than before, permamently.

How we could fight against these lame creatures? Welding doors shut every evening?

Pete that's awful news! I haven't kept up at all so have only just come across this. Thank goodness it looks as though your work hasn't been trashed too badly, although it sounds like they used your van to do a job on someone else's property.

I'll bet the police won't even want to know.

Edit: Your text reply has just confirmed that they know most likely which area the problem lies in but its a no-go area for them. I bet that if the government diverted resources away from quick fixes like chasing motorists and into putting bodies onto the streets and into these areas to go and deal with these people then at least they could prevent some of these sorts of crimes.
