hmmmmmm......
Which 360s had power steer then?
I am looking at using a 360 rack for a conversion as it is the right size, but I want power steer for it.

Hopefully the new workshop manual comes in a couple of days, then I won't be poking around in the dark when I am working on it....

Power steering is usually found on later cars >87 - i think it was an expensive option on earlier cars but not sure if it was ever offered on Mk2 cars.

Mk2 GLT's, like mine, had no toys at all except automatic heated seats and for all I know that might have been an option. Later Mk3 GLT's always had central locking and power front windows.

The real thing about a GLT was the fuel injected B19E/B200E - it was the most powerful V300.

This one has aircon, power front windows, central locking and am/fm pushbutton radio.
No headlight wipers or heated seats or power steer.

Bloody indicator/main beam switch is stuffing up.
It now will not self cancel and you have to pull the switch hard back into the steering wheel to change beams......and my workshop manual hasn't arrived yet

Other than that, it is just as entertaining as ever.....although the rear end letting go on a gravel road at 50 mph could be described as a little more than "entertaining".....but that was my stupid fault :?
Didn't come right around though....I must have looked like a rally hero, when I actually felt like a complete dickhead........

The bracket that holds this switch gear is made out of plastic and breaks all the time. The switch itself is probably fine. Take the wheel off (a 24mm deep socket if I remember rightly) to get at it properly. I've bodged them back together before with judicious use of large washers and epoxy resin,

Damn, I don't have a 24mm deep socket.
I know this because that is the socket required to remove the top nut on a 240 strut.
I do have a 27mm deep socket though, for the 240 steering wheel....
Most of my unusual tools are geared towards working on 240s. So I will have a 24mm deepsocket soon to put the 240 struts back together again with the new internals so I will be able to fix the 360.

Damn thing left me stranded yesterday, wouldn't start for going to work so I had to take a day off and fix it.

Turned out that the rotor arm was pitted and burned, there was not much left of the contacts inside the rotor cap, one plug lead came in half in my hands, and the plugs were all shagged.
It's a wonder it still ran at all!
Fitted new parts, and now it runs smoother, pulls harder, and hopefully will use less fuel.
it certainly needs less throttle input to do the same thing, that's for sure.

Now I have to talk little bro into fitting some new tyres and doing a full service instead of just lending it to me so it breaks under my care and I have to fix it!

Now to lower it...and fix the sloppy steering rack and balljoints...and get an alignment done, it's got positive camber one side and negative the other! And **** knows where the toe is...
