Areet folks? Haven't posted in a while, been hyper busy with day to day rubbish.

A while back when my daily metro expired (bought as a stopgap while I tracked down parts for my lovely 30k Vario), I thought "bollix to this, I'm sticking to 340s".
So it was onto ebay and shock horror, there was one about 10 miles away. Off I went for a look, and it was rough, really rough. But I bought it anyway because it had a year's MOT (blind/bribed/pikey tester) so I thought I could just run it until that ran out. Sorry about the low quality pictures, cameraphone and various challenging light conditions.

So I did, until a spring cup failed:

Then as soon as I'd swapped a strut in, the other side went, and after inspecting it some of the subframe metal was paper thin. I just stripped the bugger, here are some shots that you may find distressing (if you're distressed by rust).

Holes (some with things through them):

Where's the other end?

Here it is:

Then I wanted the transaxle out, last time I did this it was a massive pain due to restricted space. I had a cuppa and a solution hit me:

I've got a lot of spare parts now, this bugger donated its passenger side window and whole lock set when some lovely person took my CD player:

Anyhow I weighed it in for nearly £100 and with all the spares I think I've come out on top.

Holy s**** that thing has some extra ventilation holes

I wonder how that thing has passed MOT, your guesses are probably more than correct on that one, incredible :?

Even with Finland-standards in amount of rust, that is a lot of rust. :D

How on earth did that get 12 months

I reckon a lot of people here would like to know who test it so they can use them :P

I have never seen a 300 quite so rotten - pretty bloody awful! It's not even *that* old imo!

That should never have got an MOT!!

Was that an intentional smelling pistake?

I only ask because the guy that gave that car an MOT is obviously a [three letter word for mammary glands]

Did you see pics of one Japanese car in Finland that got mot, even car's structure below was so rusted that one could easily make holes about everywhere ?

I don't remember details, but I think it was going into court and mot station was drawn into it too as well as car seller sm14

I'm not sure. If it was long ago i have been too young to remember it.

OMG  Frightening pictures.

What did the previous owner do to it to get it that rusty? Rub it in salt every evening?

Clearly a blind tester! I didn't realise they rotted quite like that! And I thought by AE86 rotted!
