Engine mounts

Post by kaos » 12 Oct 2008 01:07 pm

Hey guys.

Right im in the process of costing up right now. Making my own engine mounts.

They will be pretty damn solid with limited flex with anyluck

For the 340's only currently it would be the front 2 and the bell housing ones.
and if i have my measurements right will be a direct bolt on.

Now i plan on making 2 lots to start with.

If all goes to plan im prepared to lend the extra set out to adam or anyone else i know who has a working 1764cc 16v engine in there 340. just to see how they drive.

If they are any good i am prepared to do batch runs and offer them forsale.

im also assuming that the 1.7 and 1.4 engine mounting bolt seting is the same eg: all M8 for example so they can be swaped between engines.

Any Questions?

They are the same nuts though so I assume they're the same thread. Probably something like an M12.

Threaded bar with poly moulded around it? Should do the job better than the rubber ones.

Thread bar and Flexane. stiff as shit with little flex. hopefully wont cost much to make. it depends on how much of this felxane stuff is used up making one set i guess.im in talks with there regional manager.

so yes stiff and obviously new and not worn out like a lot of the engine mounts.

So bear with me.
