Woohoo!
Someone who knows less about automotive workings than me!

That really is classic.
Gets my nomination for Man Of The Year anyway.
Certainly funnier than Only Fools And Horses.

106 owner, you plonker.

FANTASTIC thread

I started at it yesterday and finished it off today. It's amazing how something like that can bring together over 100 car forums  The power of the internet!

Thanks for linking, pity no one posted to say hello from V3M. I see Turbo Bricks gave a mention :)

Hahahah. :D

This is in a same class except it's a bit sad at the same time because someone has been paying for that kind of "engine work."

Yeah, I saw someone link to that Lancer forum. All very funny until page 21 when it got very, very scary. (There are more pics of this on that page)

What have we here, the new clutch doesn't look like the old one?

Ah well

Welded back up

 Bodging two clutches together! Who the heck does that! They also drilled some holes in the flywheel to lighten it...

This car is a death trap at worst, and a leg amputation device at best :( I do not want to see the result when the proverbial hits the fan...

There was also a link from that site to one about a guy who's Nissan 350Z was ruined by a bodyshop in California adding a bodykit, that has over 60 pages of responses.

http://my350z.com/forum/lounge-off-topi ... uined.html

It was supposed to be $750 to paint and fit a bodykit, but they almost seem to have written off the car

The paintwork was terrible, it was peeling, had orange peel, loads of run in the clear coat, colour didn't match the car, some of it was rippling, over spray onto the car even though it should have been painted off of the car.

Wood screws holding the kit to the sill
Image

The kit was dented, didn't fit neatly against the car, had some wood scraps used to fit it...

They dented the bottom of one of the doors, and changed the doors fitting so it cleared the kit (but made the door look wonky compared to the rest of the car). Some fixings had disappeared that held the grill on...

The car owner was going to take him to court to get about $2000, which other shops quoted to repair the mess, but on the last couple of pages they took the side skirts off to look underneath...

Image (that's the sill, and the bottom of one of the doors)

 The 'bodyshop' completely butchered the sill, and he's been quoted $14,000 to fix it, it's almost a write off. That's so dangerous to do that, and just hide it under the side skirts. I was speechless when I saw those photos...
