Hello V3M at large. Ive been knocking round the forum for a while now but never introduced myself propperly. (how rude!)
So Here I am.

Newcastles newest 340!
I have just finished giving my new car (cheers pete) a good service and clean so I thought Id get some pics up.
Its a Forum car, so nothing new (as such), its just changed hands is all. But ive just learned how to post picturs (cheers trabbitom) so im going on a bit of a photoraph rampage. mwa ha ha!

Things still to do:
Fit my Raytdot Oblong Spots
Some nice alloys (eventually)
Its going to drop down a couple of inches as soon as Ive got spending money for the parts.
Tring so source IMMACULATE period radio. Not essential, but would be nice. Nd maybe a colour coded sharkfin arial on top.
Some '8-Ball' decals to go on the exterior. Bought and need to be fitted.
So youre thinking, 8 balls? how oldare you? twelve? there sooooo tacky!
But:
(had so much bad luck recently, im tring to use reverse psychology on my luck. 8Balls signify bad luck, so maybee if i overload the bad luck, itll tick back round to good luck again. Plus I think theyre cool as an eskimos ballbag.)
Would like a snow cap but theyre rare as hens teeth.
Same goes for rear lourvre.

Thats about it.
One to line up with the rest of the V3M rolling projects.

cheers to everyone thats helped, advised and directed me so far as well.
Youre a fine bunch of reprobates.
Party on.

Ben :)

Wow, that back seat looks like it's never been sat in.

A few bits I'd look out for if it was mine (which it's not, so do what you like!)

Chrome wheel inserts (?)

All the pics are courtesy that now infamous Ebay GLS ;-) Still a nice car though ...

The more chrome the better!
Cheers Tom!

If anyones got any of the above knocking round the garage unused, I'd be very intrested in putting it to good use.

I'd go for Mk2 GLT wheels on that car, very period, I had them on my old 343:

I've got a set of trim rings for the 13" steel wheels though, if required.

Lookin lovely.
I've got some 2" dropping springs, but they'd reduce the usability of the car a bit. Got various alloys too, not sure how well they'd suit yours though.

Chrome trims would be great steve.
Provided you were prepared to post them.
Its a long drive rom Toon to the wild wild west mids :D

And those wheels dooooooooooooooooooooo look good man. Thanks a lot for the heads up.
think im sensibly going to have to run these tyres down and save some pennies before i can justify shelling out on wheels.

Pennies be short.

Cheers John.
The car feels bit rolly and wallowy at the minute, maybe needs new leafs?
How much does dropping reduce usability man?

I only pootle round really.
No rallying, drifting or double shifting.

Rolly? They're all like that

Could probably box them up and send them, although I'm being a bit crap at digging stuff out the shed to post for people atm (sorry Jay!)

Replacing the 20 year old rear shocks worked wonders for mine. And I'm not fussed about speed bumps or Eastern European roads ;-)

Warden thew a party in the county jail!
etc.
:D
If you dig them out steve (no rush, seems to run well enough without them :) ) give me a pm and we'll sort soething out.

Cheers Tom.
Think that might be something to add to the list..........................

Ever bought a perfectly good car, that needs nothing done to it, only for it to turn into a 'project' right before your very eyes?

:?

Yeah, that sounds very familiar :)

Leave it alone

Personally I think your car looks good with the standard rims - splash of chrome here and there would do it no harm though, as would a bit of paint on the existing rims. I've just added Mk II alloys to my car, and they do look good, but somehow your car seems too innocent for them! Whatever you do, good luck with the toy.

Yeah workshopmanaulman, I saw your wheels on another thread, and they do look VERY good.
Your handywork , toil and effort on them really does you proud mate. Koudos.

Im in two minds really.

Its a lovely origonal car that deserves to be kept in a good origonal keeping.
But then, im a tacky, sticker-loving retard.
i was REALLY looing for another cheap 340 to 'rat look' and matt black-up. But then got far ore than I bargained for when I bought this 340. Now im starting to feel a bit of responsibility to keep it honest.

Maybe im turning gay. Or just growing up.

What do you think V3M?

Keep in honest, on origonal rims and tastefull extras when available?

or

Spoilers, stickers and alloys?

Im going to cherrish it either way, and it'll be kept mechanicly in the best condition i can maintain, Im not going to let it go to seed or owt, but im fifty fifty on the road to take with it.

Shouts as always welcomed.

Damn nice wee car. Agree that slamming it to the deck would make a nice smooth euro look, and would look good with those steelies too. Problem is, you'll lose your smooth euro ride.

Form or function, form or function, what's it going to be?
