perhaps its just n over-elaborate anti-hairlos device.

Keep it pressed in and you dont have to pull your hair out.

An imaginative solution to the problem of the gutless 2 litre! Of course, they could have fitted a more powerful engine instead.

My 245 has a B230A / AW71, and that is SLOWWWWW...Nessy (B14/M47) was a good match for it. Autos (especially old mechanical ones) don't work too well without plenty of power behind them.

I'm totally a trend-setter :-P

cheers

There's a 740 glt (16v) manual in the scrappy. Straight fit or anything I should know?

Not a strait fit but the 16valve goodness would be great in the 360 :D

What power and torx do they make as standard? Do 740 GLTs tend to have LSD?

155bhp standard, not sure on torquez but that'd go nicely in a 360!

It would indeed. I bet it's around the same torque, 150ish, in a big wide spread that'd make in-gear acceleration great. I did have something a bit spicier than that lined up for my 60, but I think I'll find a 3dr shell for that purpose, and maybe look at the B234. That is, if I can atop my mate putting it in a Triumph Dolomite.

If you fancy a few quid, PM Chesh on Turbobricks. He's looking for bits from a 16v...clutch master cyl and pedal box, for example.

It's not a direct bolt-in, but it's still a redblock, so how hard can it be? Do iiiiiiit!

cheers

I'll get down the yard at the weekend and see what prices the monosyllabic gorillas are demanding. It'd be a really interesting engine for a 360, torquey yet revvy (compared to a b200 at least), probably around 140hp/tonne, maybe more with megasquirt.
I was thinking of doing stuff to the 740 but TBH I think I'll just leave it alone. Maybe cut the springs and see if my wire wheels fit. I know the 7 is 5x108, but unsure on the wheels. I know they aren't 5x114.3 because they refuse to go on my amazon, even though that was the whole point of buying them. :x
