Volvo c202

Post by dafdaffer » 02 Dec 2008 09:13 pm

Just a quick note, went to albert looms today looking for a 340 (none there) and found a volvo c202 4wd. i know its not a 340 but it was definatley worth saving if you know anyone who has one or has intrested before it is turned into bean cans, it looks like a landrover forward control, proper fun looking, i dont know how long it will be there but it was there today.!

cheers

Paul

Interesting, it's one of those fun looking vehicles that like every other vehicle I have would be different and have it's own unique qualities, but I can't really justify!

Sure there'd be quite a few people interested in it if they knew it was there, certain collectors or enthusiasts.

I've put the word out about it. They're a rare sight indeed.

I worked on these things a few years back whilst as a contractor for the Swedish Army. They'll go over absolutely anything, and being a Volvo, they're pretty much unbreakable!
The models I worked on (c202 TGB111's and the 6-wheeled varients) did suffer from rust badly though - hence the rarity!

it was not to bad on the old tin worm front, gearbox and prop had gone and somones taken the clocks out other than that it was pretty good.
i would love to have a go in one. i like landrovers but they dont look quite as capable as the volvo. i will post a picture if i get chance to get up there.

it is at the same place as the volvo 343 black beauty was at, albert looms in derby, they always have intresting cars and they will let you buy them if its a bit special!

i am still looking for a volvo 343 or 345 variomatic, the one with the nose cone on if one comes availible.
