New wheels.

Post by Tubthumper » 05 Dec 2008 05:57 pm

Evening all,

Well, having got fed up with dealing with understeer, generally attributed to the 13" high profile tyres on standard steels, I purchased a set of 480 wheels and 185/60/14 tyres, and wow, what a difference. The car actually feels composed in corners now, and the tyres don't feel like they are peeling off the rims

Here it is keeping my other Volvo company

Cheers,

It has just passed the 34, 000 mile mark today, and all I really want to sort is the N/S rear door, as the chap I bought it from had reversed into a low post, and made a bit of a mess. If anyone knows of a good door in the same colour, please get in touch.

p.s I paid all of £31.50 for the 4 wheels and tyres, and the seller threw in the nuts as well :)

Sale of the century man.
did you not try your luck and see if he had a blue rear door while you were on?

Funnily enough, he did have 2 blue doors, but they were from the same 480 the wheels came off of :)

Guess your luck ran out right there then man.

I know what you mean, but the car is almost spotless apart from the N/S rear door, and it seems a shame to not try and get her right again :)
