I finally got a chance to get some decent pics (Cheers Mark) of the Volvo 360 I bought a few weeks back. Thought I'd stick it up on here for those that want to see it and seeing as it will be on on going and more importantly road going project this seems the right section.
I bought the car from a local second hand dealers for £400 three weeks ago with the intention of having a laugh over the winter and getting into the tramp drift scene. It is a 2.0 carb one owner OAP special, 100% standard/original. 59K miles and barely any rust at all given that it is 25y/o in February. It came with the original FM radio/cassette (optional ) and some fly 6.5" speakers in enclosures under the front seats - stealth build ftw, 12 months MOT and I supplied 6 months tax. It is supposed to have 110bhp IIRC and it isn't slow given it's age/size. More than enough to have some fun in the dry
To my knowledge it has not been on the road since 1992.
So far I have given it new HT leads/plugs/air filter/fuel filter/dizzy cap/rotor arm and oil/filter. It also required a new mechanical fuel pump as the old one was gutless and fcuked me over more than once . I have also stripped and cleaned the carb as it wasn't running well at all. Bled the brakes yesterday and managed to snap a bleed nipple Also now for some reason the fronts are sticking on! The calipers 'seem' fine as do the pads/discs and rear drums/shoes but I guess they may need refurbishing.
Typical after I missed a pair of NOS calipers on eBay for a fiver each!
Anyway, brief future plans then a few pics.
3" drop all round using mk2 Escort lowering blocks and 'maybe' cut the front coils - unlikely tbh. 13x7 Minilites or Wellers in black. Carb set up would be nice too . Along with the most important part, a MiG spec diff (lol) and a few other bits and pieces.
Not going too OTT with it, I've been told I got a bargain, should maybe be £8/900 as it would be nice for it to appreciate in value or at least retain it's current price and if I keep on top of it and do nothing irreversible then it should be fine.
Big thanks to Steve for helping me with all of the above and also Mark, Conor, Adam and Martin - must be nice to everyone Lol
I just need some rims and a decent ride height ASAP
