Happy Dan

Post by Bazboy » 10 Jan 2009 11:43 pm

Well i just thought id share with you guys how happy i am, because i finally replaced the carburetor on my 1.4 and it now runs better then it ever has under my ownership,(chris and jason know how bad my old one was)
I know this may not sound like a jumping for joy kinda thing but im extra happy because i managed to spill coolant into the manifold, which i figured was the end of the engines days, But it surprised me and started and has run perfectamundo ever since so i guess it must of all burnt off, I got my mate Dave to have a butchers as he knows a lot more about engines then me and he said it was all fine.

Cheers for listening

Dan.

p.s, ill get some pics up when i can as the old one is a sight to behold, the some of the hoses were blocked solid!!!

Nice one Dan,
Those webers are awful when they're poorly. Makes you feel so much happier about the car when it's running right.

:D Nice one dude! Never before have I seen idle speed only able to be brought below 1500 by ballsing up the mixture  We'll have to have a Soton pub trip some point soon, and get Jason to stop poncing about and actually get PTF back on the road!

Ring supertracker... they make the 4 wheel alignment kit and if you ask nicely they will put your car on the demo machine. As they make the kit, they actually know how to use it unlike some places

There is another supertracker kitted out place, but I've heard not so great things from friends, and as the main place is just as close and cheaper ;)

I need to run my car out there atm.

Sweet cheers chris, my tracking is pretty bad lol and i was worried about going in to any old place and getting it done incase they balls it up. Will give them a try, Does anyone know much about Protyre in fareham as they are a bit closer to me(being in Portsmouth) and dont know when im going to be able to get down to southampton for a whole day.

Cheers Dan
