New wheels?

Ok, I'm enough fed up to my french FWD daily already, but now it's engine is starting to misfire bit after starting if it is cold so I think that it is time to move on.

So what car to get next?

-Can't be FWD, it is just not natural at all, no more FWD cars that is.
-It should have at least some shoulder space, I hate that my shoulder leans to cold window all the time or then I need to sit tilted to passenger side.
-Should be some power to overtake, if not by stock, then by tuning.
-Inside should be rather quiet, not much of road noise.
-It must also cost very small amount of money, I don't like to pay really a lot from car that will be soaked to salt water most of year.

Just by unlucky coincidence I still have my car, it just happens that I found car dealer to be closed for this week, there would of been -89 STW with 64k (miles) verified on clock, no rust and new tires, everything working, even AC, also price would been in my range, but so it happens that car dealer is not open and I'm not around here anymore when it is open.

So, now I did see bit of similar, but with unknown mileage and quite bit cheaper price near my next location, which I'm interested to go see, but I don't know if I should think twice, 5l gasoline V8 is perhaps bit thirsty?

Is this going to be a million mile'r? Else luxobarges with big engines are currently cheap.... E200, 5/7series, Jag XJ 's

:D

Just don't pay for the petrol yourself!

Well, I have to drive a lot, around 43 500 miles / year, also I have to pay cas by myself, but it is only costing 3 times more per mile than with my french fwd crap

XJ's start from 5k (euros) here, they are not in same league that ones over there I'm afraid

Latest that I wen't to see but dealer was not open, that was Chevrolet Caprice

Well, aside from the obvious choice (a Volvo of course ;-)) how about a BMW-engined diesel Omega? I drove a borrowed petrol-engined Omega for a skiing holiday once, and it was fun. And big.

Or maybe a diesel Scorpio or Sierra? Should be quite cheap.

Or an LPG car?

BMW 325/525 TDS... I had the 325 e36 and it was a good milemuncher, powerful enough, economical and even sounded nice

No LPG here, progress reach this country with few decades delay, Penisilin is cutting edge here still :(

735/750, S350/S500 maybe? But those are not too cheap to run as they require many quite expensive parts to be replaced :(

Problem with Fords are that they have lot of holes and even more miles than 300 series, it is next to impossible to find solid low mileage Ford of any kind, their odometer also can show only 99999 and then it starts over, so it is very hard to know if that mileage is correct what seller reports.

Forgot one requirement:
-If diesel engined, then there have to be more than 4 cylinders, petrol car can be with 4 cylinders but it should either have high rpm or enough boost

525TDS is possible, if there would be any good ones, but most seem to have more than 350k on clock or price something over 5k which I think is insane for old car with lot of miles on clock.

How I feel that it is really hard to find good replacement, maybe I should go for another crap one?

Try to find a 340 with the elusive 1.6 Diesel engine ;) Although admittedly it will be really really hard to find one that is still in running order here in Finland.

I have fixed some fuel leaks of one when it was rather new, but what I remember it is too damn slow, if 0-100kph takes more than 10 seconds I find that driver gets wind up to speed before car

Sorry no vans either, well not yet, I need to get one someday if I plan to work more with my house, but for short deliveries I might use one car that I wish to get someday, Tatra T815, however it is not suitable for very long trips, I wish to use it more for offroad fun, well some day ;)

I might call tomorrow from one Pontiac that should be equipped with GM 305, putting TPI kit and Megasquirt to that might be some of interest

Transit van?

Rear leaf springs, so you dont forget the 300. Many engine options. Excellent parts back up.
And anything you kill, you can take home for super.

Road kill.
i wasnt suggesting you were a murderer dude.

Just std wheel base, semi high top, newer, nicer and with 19k original miles.

Thought it was a monte carlo.
But could be wrong.

Still, with the choice, Id be happy rollin in either as long as the steering wheel was chrome chain and there was plenty of tassles.
