it never Haynes but it pours

Post by OapEM » 26 Jan 2009 11:17 pm

just won 48 (IIRC) Haynes manuals on eBay . All old skool. I plan to keep all bar the duplicates as me and a few mates are planning on getting a unit sorted some time this year and who knows what we will be buying I paid 16 quid split with a mate and collected them as they were 9 miles from mine.
Winner There's some right beauties. Wish I had the cars!

Dont even get me started dude.

went and looked at like eight capris before i got the 340.
All up for around a 700-800.
All rotten as a teesiders tooth.

And thats mark twos!
Jebuz H. Coconut knows what a decent mk one'd set you back.

Was quite depressed at realising i'd never be able to afford a solid retro f*rd.

Then I snagged a 340.

Mwa ha ha!

Converted.

There's a minted mk1 around my way. I have only seen it about 3 times in 10 years lol

Fine weather use doesn't define that car! Bastard has a window louvre too lol. Suppose the Capri is meant to be a 'muscle' car though

Aye I know how you feel man I'll never afford or be willing to part with the cash for a mk1. So many other things that could buy! Interesting choice going for a mk2 dude, i can imagine the tin worm, even the mk3's seem to rust more than the pipes on the Titanic. Shame like.

I'm converted too lol, maybe not to 300's exclusively but certainly to RWD - as I expected! Every journey's a riot (bar the ones that end on a spec lift) and to think it all began with a trip to Falcon Computers for a laptop bag

Also how do I change my name on here from this unfunny one (seemed to work in my head) to something a bit more sane, PM the powers that be?

Think you might be stuck with it dude.

not too bad though eh?
Not like you called yoursel Rod Hartbender or owt.

I took the 340 in the end because its mint.
i had a rotter as a run-around but it sort of caught fire and exploded.
I know Iots of people say that man, but mines got a suggestion of the tin worm on bottom corner ofthe front valance and that it.
John crawled all over it then made the blank 'omg' surprised face.
Then called dibs on it if i die.
Sound like a c*nt bragging on about it i know, but its a one off.

Get up and check it out man. Think johns getting up at the weekend.

Ronnie wit hthe dolomite also has an estelle 'welding marathon' which may resurface one day. They're not bad cars at all really, think they just got frowned at because they were cheap. The main problem is the swing axle rear suspension, which you can cure with bits from a rapid. They certainly screwed them together pretty well, but rustproofing wasn't a priority it seems.

Cheers dude :)

The Estelle reminds me of the guy on Deals on Wheels who had had about a dozen of them, then sold his current one to some weird farmer type and bought the body kit back

They do have an interesting look about them but whether one was beating Fords or not. I'd much rather have a mk3 xr3 lol
