Re: too kind for my own good
well for those of you still "on topic "
the young man in question arrived at my front door this morning carrying a shiny black twelve volt electronic cell (battery to you lot )
which was duly connected ( dont know who Duly is but she did a good job of it )
a quick spin on the starter and the 480 burst into life , a couple of squealy belts but she runs ,
neither of the pop ups work but will start by buying the proper daylight running light bulbs as , as Chris pointed out , they could be the problem.
still too much snow to take it for a spin and am a bit concerned that after running for about twenty minutes the temp gauge hadent moved , could be a sender or might need a new thermostat .
still its progress , all the lights work ok except one of the dlr's ,lecky windows do what they should and the central locking works ok.
I just want to take it for a spin now but its started snowing again

Good work fella.
Even gets work done in the snow.
Surely some kind of medal/drink would be appropriate.

Re: too kind for my own good
the battery drained in no time but traced it to a dodgy earth terminal , managed to adjust it so it tightened up properly and have run the car three days running , one pop up works ( oddly the drivers side which is the side the daytime running light dosent work ), took it for a drive and I think the clutch is ok , might have had some rust on the plate surfaces through lack of use which I have "freed off " with a little spirited driving ,
found a replacement door mirror in the right colour so that leaves one pop up to sort out , a windscreen washer jet and the handbrake which does nothing

Re: too kind for my own good
anyone know how to change the daytime running light bulbs on these ?, cant seem to get to th bulb holders from inside the bomnnet and I dont want to break the clusters trying to remove them.
also how do I get the headlamps up if they wont come up on there own ? I dont want to break the one thats not working
I have also just started to strip down the inner door trim so I can replace the door mirror.
if I can get these little jobs done it will be worth putting through an mot

Re: too kind for my own good
changed the dlr bulbs one bulb holder was quite corroded so gave it the emery paper treatment and it now works fine , the n/s headlight still wont come up so guess it might be the motor ( you can wind the headlamp up manually )
