John, just go to http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp, click on Vehicle Enquiry, slap in the Reg and make and it'll give you the date it was registered

No such thing as a 'new' car there a lot of the time!

Same at every car factory, the customer (dealer network) order in bulk, and you can only get 5/6 on a transporter. Plus there's all the foreign-built crap we sell, brought in by ship and sat in our compounds (£6 per day per car apparently).
