Another new car for John

Post by filthyjohn » 01 Feb 2009 11:03 pm

Here we go again, already got far too many, but this one is a bit different so I couldn't say no.
It's an MGB GT which belonged to my uncle who sadly passed away some 2 years ago. I've been given the car for free, on condition that I return it to the road. Lucky or what?

It's stood a while and needs some weldzingz, a water pump and a good tune, possibly some more stuff. But hey, it's easily the best free car I've ever been given. It even beats the ST202 Celica GT-R that my mate got for nowt last week.

Comes with a garage full of spares including panels and a full set of glass:

Nice. I have a soft spot for those MG's. Thank goodness it has chrome bumpers - can't stand the later plastic ones :)

The plan is to do a sympathetic resto, to keep the family happy. Will look into lowering though, and I was at some historic rallying at Croft today, which gave me really naughty ideas once I got home and got the phone call offering the car.

Didn't catch the results, think they all went to Darlo's posh new stadium for that. Light blue escort mex seemed the quickest by far though.
